25 Fertility Boosting Foods

Almost anything that is healthy for your body is great for your reproductive health.  When discussing fertility boosting foods, we are talking fruits packed with antioxidants, lean meats, leafy greens, unsaturated fats, complex carbs, and fatty fish.  Not to mention all the other nutrients and supplements that you can take to improve your fertility!

What’s that?  Ice cream, dark chocolate, and raspberries, oh my!  Yes!  Those sweet treats are great fertility boosters as well.  Dark chocolate also contains properties that increase the libido in both women and men.

Just in case you were wondering what to prepare for dinner or for any meal, here are 25 Fertility Boosting foods to add to your diet recipes:

  • Milk
  • Ice Cream
  • Yogurt
  • Cheese (pasteurized)
  • Eggs
  • Raspberriesraspberries-blueberries
  • Blueberries
  • Grapefruit and/or Grapefruit Juice
  • Pears
  • Lean Beef (preferably grass fed and organic)
  • Turkey
  • Chicken
  • Salmon (preferably wild caught)
  • Beans
  • Tofu
  • Quinoa
  • Yams
  • Avocado
  • Spinach
  • Kale
  • Asparagus (lightly steamed)
  • Capers
  • Nuts & Seeds (walnuts, almonds, pumpkin seeds)
  • Whole Grains (rice, bread, pasta)
  • Dark Chocolate

Of course there are a lot more tasty treats, but this is just a starting point! If you are a milk drinker, you want to use whole milk and whole milk products.  You should also be having two servings a day of milk or dairy.  So adding a serving of ice cream at dinner, or breakfast for that matter, can actually help your fertility.  Skim and low-fat milk products can actually have the opposite affect.  So remember, whole milk!

Fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds are always best in their raw form.  Canned and cooked can takeaway some of the nutrients needed for a healthy reproductive system.  However, some nutrients are better than none so if pears aren’t in season, getting them packaged or canned will do!
